Adam Gidwitz gives another vote for Hogwarts as literature’s most eligible destination, alludes to an indispensable salamander, and trashes our interview questions!
Who and what would you bring with you for the zombie apocalypse?
His name is Eddie. You’ll have to read my new book, IN A GLASS GRIMMLY, to understand. But I’ll just say that he’s a salamander, and he would be indispensable. Though also more than slightly annoying.
If you could spend a week in any book world, which would it be?
I was going to say “All Quiet on the Western Front,” to sound erudite, but actually, that would be terrible. I would want to go to Hogwarts. But not as a muggle, obviously.
What is the best word (in any language) and why?
That’s like asking a chef what the best ingredient is. Depends on the dish, don’t it?
Who are you most excited to see at YALLFest?
THAT’S EVEN WORSE THAN THE PREVIOUS QUESTION! That’s like asking a parent who their favorite kid is! But probably Gayle Forman and Pseudonymous Bosch and Matt de la Pena.
What is your favorite flavor of pie?
Blood. Second? Pecan.
