Read Holly Black’s author interview to learn your new favorite word: Scrumping!
Who and what would you bring with you for the zombie apocalypse?
I would bring one of those chain mesh shark suits that sharks can’t bite through and my crazy sword-weilding husband.
If you could spend a week in any book world, which would it be?
As long as you guarantee that I can get back out again, I’d like to go live in the world of Lord of the Rings, walk through the elven forests of Lothlórien and see the golden mellyrn trees.
What is the best word (in any language) and why?
Scrumping, because it’s so specific and because it sounds so exactly like what it is. Scrumping means stealing, but only and specifically stealing apples. I defy you to say scrumping in a sentence without smiling a little.
Who are you most excited to see at YALLfest?
Readers! But also Sarah Rees Brennan, because she lives in Ireland, so I don’t get to see her as much as I would like, but I adore her and I adore her new book, UNSPOKEN.
What is your favorite flavor of pie?
Rhubarb. I love the tart-sweet flavor of it.
