Sarah Rees Brennan updates her answers to the YALLFest Author Interview and this time it involves a lot more talk of undergarments…
Who and what would you bring with you for the zombie apocalypse?
The zombie apocalypse is no time for friends, who will only slow you down and distress you if you have to kill them when they become infected. I would bring with me Sofiya Velikaya, the world’s top fencer. She can decapitate all my zombies.
If you could spend a week in any book world, which would it be?
Oh gosh, I’m a real cowardy custard, and mostly book worlds are dangerous and terrible places. And yet I would love to see some magic. I’m like, oh well, in Susan Cooper’s… nope, the Dark will definitely eat my soul… well, what about. I CAN’T DO IT. IT’S DANGEROUS IN THERE. Maybe it would be safe to be in one of E. Nesbit’s books, like the Enchanted Castle, where spells generally ended at dusk.
What is the best word (in any language) and why?
Sneachta. It’s the Irish word for snow, and to me it sounds exactly like. Find me at YAllfest and I’ll teach you to say things in Irish. 😉
Who are you most excited to see at YALLFest?
Lovely lovely readers! But also, my friends. I’m bringing a brightly coloured undergarment to throw at the stage during other people’s panels. It’s possible I’ll yell ‘take it off!’ during Holly Black and Cassie Clare’s speech. (You never KNOW with me.)
What is your favorite flavor of pie?
Derby pie! … it’s chocolate chip cookie dough pie! Or lemon pie. No wait, also just chocolate pie? And raspberry apple pie? I go a lot of ways. I find it difficult to commit. I’m not ready to settle down, pies. I have to keep my options open.
