Melissa de la Cruz is the author of many bestselling and critically acclaimed books for teens and adults, including Witches of East End, which is now a drama on Lifetime starring Julia Ormond and Jenna Dewan-Tatum. Her Blue Bloods series has sold three million copies and continues with Vampires of Manhattan. Her current series include Heart of Dread (Frozen and Stolen), co-authored with her husband Michael Johnston; The Ring and The Crown, an alternate historical fantasy, and Isle of the Lost, a Disney Descendants prequel coming in 2015. She is a graduate of Columbia University where she studied English and Art History. She lives in Los Angeles and Palm Springs with her family.
